The west coast of Wisconsin is not the first place most people think of for ska and reggae, but for more than two decades, TUGG has built a career on warm, tropical grooves and breezy melodies that stand out in the Upper Midwest music scene.
From small-town stages to major festivals, TUGG has earned a “local legend” status with a dedicated following across the region. Along the way, they have become part of the genre’s larger story, sharing the stage, touring, and directly opening for some of the most respected names in reggae, rock, and beyond: Ziggy Marley, Bad Religion, Sublime with Rome, Slightly Stoopid, The English Beat, The Wailers, The Dirty Heads, Billy Strings, PASSAFIRE, Barrington Levy, The Itals, The Aggrolites, Iration, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gin Blossoms, Fishbone, and many more.
A few of their fan favorites, including Mexico and Don’t You Go, have found their way onto major reggae/rock playlists and radio rotations, further cementing their reputation beyond state lines. In 2025, they celebrate their 25th anniversary with a new album, 25, a record that looks back on where they have been while pushing their sound forward.
